Amari-J's Amazing Story

how they came to be so famous.

Christa Amari Jordan (Amari J.) was born in Moreno Valley, Ca on October 17th, 1991. At the age of 9, Amari started teaching herself the fundamentals of music by ear. Instead of learning songs from other composers, she went right into creating her own material.

At the age of 11, Amari started getting heavy into poetry and constructing beats on tables with her friends. Around school, Jordan and her crew were known for recreating mainstream beats they heard on the radio at lunch with their pens. Teachers made her sit on her hands because she simply could not get enough of rhythm. Once Jordan got into high school, she met a boy by the name of Joseph Hoskins who taught her the basics of the program Fruity Loops, and has since then produced and arranged all her own music with knowledge of several different software programs.

She is a multi-genre artist who also plays multiple instruments by ear. Her biggest influence in music is Prince, but she is also influenced by artists such as Ryan Leslie, Missy Elliot, Lenny Kravitz, The Roots, and Third Eye Blind.

Amari believes artists vibe off each other, and therefore strives hard to collaborate with other musicians to see their points of view. In 2011, Amari dropped the Violet EP, that included the singles: California Grown, Sweat, and You Love Me. Then on July 31, 2015, Jordan dropped the Purple Dreams EP and later on in the year on October 31st J. dropped the B-sides concept EP Purple Nightmares. Purple Dreams represented love, fantasy, light, the universe, dreams in all stages, and trance. Purple Nightmares was a living breathing prayer from a sinners stand point, a nightmare, reality, darkness, demons, consciousness, and abuse of the body. Currently, Amari is gearing up for the Amethyst EP which is dropping before Summer 2017. Amethyst is a fun, interactive, love invested, summer sound.
